Solutions for this kind of challenge are integrated in the software suite SYNOPTRA. It combines the expertise of several graduate engineers who developed new methods during their dissertation at Saarland University.

SYNOPTRA consists of several components that ideally are used at a whole - nevertheless it is also possible to just pick one function in case your planning already advanced:

• synoptraPLANER: Creation of optimal overhead lines with respect to the criteria "visibility", "approval ability", and "costs". For more details click here.

• synoptraANALYSE: Calculation of visibility using a mathematical method widely accepted. Allows proof of low optical impact by comparison of variants - or by comparing the visibility of a pylon to the one of a wind turbine. For more details click here.

• synoptraIMAGE: Visualisation of the planned overhead line by defining position of observer and line of sight: Either single pictures or a sequence that is then processed to films. Many parameters (i.e. brightness, density of fog, clouds etc.) can be used to influence the picture. For more details click here.
